What do you do, exactly?
We lead unconventional tours in some of the best museums on the planet! We also offer custom company team building in NYC, SF, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Philly, and consult with museums on audience engagement.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance. Tours often sell out so we suggest purchasing your tickets early to guarantee your desired tour day. You can buy your tickets either online or by phone (347-282-5001) with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express.
Do you offer private or group tours?
Yes, private group tours are available. Group tour hours and fees vary from our regular schedule. Enter your info on our private tours page and a client advisor will reach out asap.
Do you offer special tours for children and teens?
Yes, private family tours are available. We LOVE private tours with little kids and have lots of activities to keep them entertained and in an active learning state. Email us to schedule a private tour for your family in any of our cities!
Are there any age limits? can we bring our kids?
We require children to be 16+ to attend our public tours, and guests to be 21+ for our VIP evening tours. We’re happy to welcome kids of all ages on our private family tours. For more info, email us at email@example.com.
Where can I buy a “museums are f***ing awesome” shirt or “museums are f***ing awesome” tote bag?
We sell them! Check out the Museum Hack Gift Shop.
How many people are usually on each tour?
We try to stick to a maximum of nine people per tour guide. You will always be with a small group.
How much walking or standing will there be? are there stairs?
We will be on our feet for the majority of the tour. Guests will have the opportunity to sit down at a few points on the tour, but we will be using the stairs.
Speaking of being on our feet, what should I wear?
Museum Hack does not have a specific dress code. We recommend you dress comfortably and wear shoes for walking as you will be on your feet for the majority of the tour.
What should I bring with me?
All you need is yourself and a fully charged smartphone! You don’t even need to print your tickets.
Are your tours wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all museums we tour in on our public tours are handicap accessible. We have no issue whatsoever accommodating handicapped guests on our tours.
Do you allow photography?
Yes, and we’d encourage you to take as many photos as you’d like on the tour! In fact, we’d love it if you brought a charged smartphone with you. Please be mindful to obey all museum rules for photography.
Are refreshments available for purchase?
We don’t sell refreshments, but you’re welcome to visit the museum cafes! Keep in mind, however, that outside food and drink is strictly prohibited within the museum.

What is your refund and reschedule policy for public tours?
We’re happy to reschedule any public tour ticket purchases as long as we have 48 hours notice. Once we’re inside 48 hours to your tour, we’re unable to accommodate any changes to your public tour tickets.
Will my tour still run if the weather is bad?
As long as the museum is open, so are we! We do not offer any refunds or reschedules for guests who can’t attend their tour due to poor weather if the museum is open.
I booked tickets for a tour, and it’s now sold out, but my friends want to come. Can you help?
If you’d like to buy more tickets for a tour than what’s currently showing available on our website, please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we’ll see if we can make some magic happen.
Are pets allowed on the tour?
No, other than certified service dogs, pets are not permitted.
Are you available to host my event?
We would love to help! Send us an email at email@example.com.
I took your un-highlights tour at the Met once before. Will it be different if I come again?
Our tours change over time – and they’re different from guide to guide! We don’t use scripts in our tours and each guide researches the stories they tell on their tours, so you’ll almost certainly have a different experience with a different guide. Even if you see the same piece, you’ll get a new perspective on the stories behind it and what makes it awesome. If you remember the date and time of your last tour (or your tour guide’s name!), send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we can let you know if the tour date you’re considering purchasing tickets for will be led by a different guide.
Can I buy a gift certificate for your tours?
Yes! Gift certificates for public tours in all cities are available for purchase on our gift certificates page.
Is museum admission included with my museum hack ticket purchase?
Museum admission is included with your Museum Hack ticket purchase unless otherwise noted.
I have a membership to the museum. Do I still have to pay admission?
If you have a museum membership at one of the museums we tour in, please send us an email at email@example.com for information on how to use your membership with your Museum Hack ticket.
Is admission to special exhibits included with my Museum Hack museum admission?
The admission tickets we’ll give you don’t include any special exhibits, but you can bring your general admission tickets to any museum ticket counter and upgrade them to include the special exhibits you’re interested in.
