The Metropolitan Museum of Art is always magical, but there’s something extra special about the museum when it’s home to an incredible proposal tour.

Over the last month, we worked with Ty to craft an unforgettable surprise proposal for his girlfriend at the Met. We helped Ty plan down to the last detail, from how to successfully hide their families in the museum until just after the big moment, to bringing in a professional photographer, to communicating with the soon-to-be groom as though we were planning a team building tour to keep his girlfriend from suspecting anything was afoot.

The proposal tour went off spectacularly!

Ty gets down on one knee.

Ty and his unsuspecting girlfriend showed up at the Met on a Sunday afternoon for what was billed as a fabulous private tour of the museum. Our guide led the pair through the Met, pointing out the best objects and most interesting stories hidden in the collections. We treated the happy couple to a surprise performance from a special guest musician with over 20 years’ experience performing Indian classical music and our photographer was on hand to capture every moment of the proposal.

We kept the charade going strong throughout the tour until Ty was ready to pop the question. Afterward, family and friends joined the group to celebrate the newly engaged.

The couple loved their experience with Museum Hack’s proposal tour at the Met!

“Anna was the best tour guide ever! She immediately put me at ease. I knew I was in good hands! Anna was so awesome during the tour. Jenna loved the whole tour and had so much fun. I, on the other hand, was a nervous wreck. I’m just glad Jenna was able to fully enjoy listening to Anna’s funny and engaging remarks. Anna also kept me calm right before the proposal by talking to me. Thank you for talking to me! I needed that. And also, thank you for keeping the ruse going – you were very believable. I know it helped with the surprise.” – Ty

We wish the absolute best to Ty and Jenna as they embark on this new journey together!
