We’re so excited to announce Sarah Hall has been hired as our new Tour Guide Liaison!
Sarah has been bounding through life mostly as a theatrical stage and production manager for companies like the I Love Lucy Live On Stage National Tour, Dead Poets Society with Tony Winning Director John Doyle, multiple mind bending productions with SITI Company, and the ever so animated Disney Cruise Line and Disney Special Event Productions.
As Tour Guide Liaison, Sarah will be our eye-in-the-sky for all tour guides in helping Museum Hack better our systems for support and communication!
Sarah loves reading everything she can get her hands on and running for long distances. She also accepts bourbon and coffee dates without hesitation.
We sat down with Sarah to get to know her a little better.
Museum Hack: Why did you apply to work with Museum Hack?
Sarah: Lol. I sorta didn’t. I had applied a few times before and was never called in for an interview. Ethan Angelica called me about this job in particular because he thought it would be a good fit (he’s a good friend). I sent in a resume and they used my application from before. I knew a few people who worked there and I knew I liked the concept of working with art (I have a background in theatre) so it appealed to me as a sort of new artistic avenue. I also saw that the job itself was something I thought I could be really good and in the process improve the company.
Museum Hack: Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.
Sarah: So far, watching Kylie for 2 hours as she worked her way through the Met LG approval tour was really fun (don’t be creeped out Kylie!). It is great to see how much everyone’s personality comes out on their tours and hers is really fun. Plus, she was a little nervous, which I hate to say, but was kinda awesome to watch. I love how our guides are really invested in the tours they give. I think this is the heartbeat for why people love these tours so much.
Museum Hack: What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Sarah: I once did this really stupid thing where I ran a half marathon and full marathon back to back over 2 days (39.3 miles). I also think… I’m pretty sure I’m the oldest person at MH. I also can’t confirm this at all…
Museum Hack: If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?
Sarah: Run. And eat Oreo cookies next to paintings. And try to stay away from those straw people at the Met. They scare me.
Museum Hack: If you could work at any other museum, which one would you choose?
Sarah: Well, I sorta get to work at them all, which is super cool. I think I would probably work at Musée d’Orsay or lead a bike tour along the urban bourbon trail. Cause what makes more sense than bourbon sipping and bicycles?
