Lia is a one woman show, and her tours are absolutely hilarious. We did a quick interview with her in the above video. Find our about her secret desire to be a flying winged mermaid in the interview below.
Which museum do you give tours at?
The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Why did you apply to work with Museum Hack?
It looked awesome, like a really fun, creative opportunity. Harry and I applied together, with our resumes on the same piece of paper. It was great that Museum Hack was open to it!
Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.
Once we were doing a private Bachelorette Party tour, and the bachelorette was a urologist. She gave us an entire lesson in urinary disorders, because a beard on an Egyptian statue somehow reminded her of a particular disorder she had seen.
What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
My first crush was Donatello. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, not the artist.
If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?
I would go past all the ropes in all the period rooms, listen to scary music, and sleep in the CRAZY elaborate beds! I would also conduct a seance with the mummies.
If you were to be reincarnated as an animal, which would it be and why?
A flying winged mermaid, so I could swim to the deepest depths and fly to the greatest heights. (By the way, the American period rooms have a bunch of winged mermaid themed furniture.)
If you could work at any other museum, which one would you choose?
The Morbid Anatomy Museum! I haven’t been there yet, but it seems really cool!
