Today, we’re talking to Julia Kennedy, our Marketing + Audience Development Associate! Julia handles our social media accounts and works with the Audience Development team to bring amazing content to museums.

Museum Hack: Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.

Julia: Pretty much all of AAM 2017, hanging out with the Audience Development team, including such events as running through the expo hall to find puppies & birds of prey, hailing an Uber and getting a limo, MacGyvering our booth, and becoming BFFs with a sea lion.

Museum Hack: What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?

Julia: I was on an episode of Nick News with Linda Ellerbee in Season 8. I’m incredibly thankful that you can’t really find episodes of the show online, because while I thought side ponytails and tie dye dolphin shirts were cool – sadly, they are not.

Museum Hack: If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?

Julia: First and foremost, find the cafe and make myself some coffee and food to fuel the adventure. Thoroughly visiting a museum takes time, and I hate not being able to snack in the galleries so I’d probably just use the time to look at cool stuff leisurely AND snack, aka the ideal museum experience.

Museum Hack: If you could work at any other museum, which one would you choose?

Julia: Literally any aquarium anywhere – they are the best. I grew up going to the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island so probably there, or the London and Vancouver Aquariums were also excellent.

Museum Hack: If you could come back as an animal, which would it be?

Julia: There are too many amazing animals to choose from, but honestly my dog because she is just chill and living her best life.
