While we love creating exciting, unusual museum tours, over the years, we’ve found that our methods of engagement that work really well inside the museum are also incredibly effective outside the museum.
A few months ago, we had the opportunity to demonstrate what we do both in and out of museums when we helped plan a day-long Leadership Summit for Knewton, a leading company in the personalized learning and education field. Knewton had reached out in the past about a team building tour with us and we believed that our methods of sparking excitement in museumgoers would align seamlessly with their company’s goal of increasing passion for learning.
Hacking Team Development
Knewton’s learning infrastructure is highly adaptive, intuitive, and customizable, and their company is growing rapidly. They had been aware of Museum Hack for some time, but hadn’t had the opportunity to visit the museum with us until they began planning a leadership summit for their company. We were ready to hack the event!
Knewton’s Leadership Summit started in the Museum of the City of New York, where attendees spent the morning in meetings and conferences. Following the morning’s agenda, we brought in a catered lunch so the team could recharge before we shuttled the group over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The group spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying a customized team building experience in one of our favorite museums on Earth.
We treated Knewton’s group of close to 40 employees and educators to our most surprising and secret stories about the museum’s collections. We taught them our best team building exercises and created custom activities to help them unwind, have fun, and bond after a long morning of meetings.
Our guides are pros at adapting the framework of our tours based on group interests to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience. No two private or corporate tours with us look alike and it was no different for Knewton. Our guides customized Knewton’s experience based on the goals, values, and themes the company wanted to promote during their Leadership Summit with the added bonus of providing creative inspiration and camaraderie among the group.
