Julian is one of our fabulous San Francisco tour guides! Read on to find out what joke from a museum visitor had him laughing for an entire day and what super badass animal he’d like to be reincarnated as.
MH: Why did you apply to work with Museum Hack?
Julian: I’d studied Museum Studies/Art History in college and also done improv, and when I’d graduated I traveled France, visiting all the museums I could find. When I found Museum Hack on a job board, it seemed like the perfect dream job, and a few interviews later, here I am.
MH: Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.
Julian: During a storytelling workshop, one of the groups told the story of Cain and Abel from the bible and ended with the punchline, “Why didn’t God love Cain? He just wasn’t able.” I couldn’t stop laughing for the rest of the day.
MH: What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Julian: I have an identical twin brother.
MH: If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?
Julian: If I had to be trapped in the de Young overnight, I would probably find somewhere warm to sleep.
MH: If you could work at any museum, which one would you choose?
Julian: I already volunteer at the California Academy of Sciences, but I would love to eventually have a bigger position there one day.
MH: If you were to be reincarnated as an animal, which would it be and why?
Julian: Snow Leopard. Because the world needs more of them and they’re super bad ass.
