Today, we’d like to introduce you to Honesto! Honesto, who lives in the Philippines, is one of our longest staff members at Museum Hack and is a huge driving force of our tours behind-the-scenes.
Museum Hack: Why did you apply to work with Museum Hack?
Honesto: I actually sent my resume to a local head hunter. They were the ones who asked if I wanted to apply for a job with one of their clients, which happened to be Museum Hack. I asked the head hunter for some information and was told that the company is into providing guided tours of museums in NYC. I was immediately interested because I also liked the arts, plus the opportunity to work for a New York City-based company was just too good to pass up. And the rest is history!
Museum Hack: Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.
Honesto: Since I’m a remote worker, I haven’t really had the chance to personally met and interact with my Museum Hack colleagues. However, our Founder and CEO, Nick Gray, used to send me short videos of the Met, some places in NYC, and our colleagues saying hello. I also remember the time Mark, Ethan, and Jessye sent me a postcard from Norway! These were fun times for me and I will always cherish these. I still have that postcard, by the way!
Museum Hack: What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Honesto: I’m not too sure if this is a fun fact, but might actually qualify as a funny fact. During the time I was in my mother’s womb, she developed a hobby of making dressed chickens and selling them. This was probably the reason why I had some similarities with the chicken, like my chest, arms, and legs. Because of this, friends and relatives call me “manok,” the Tagalog word for chicken.
Museum Hack: If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?
Honesto: I would probably explore as many galleries and look at as many art pieces as I probably can. Take as many pictures of these works of art as I can. Try to take in all the culture and history that has been made available to me by a stroke of luck. Getting trapped in the Museum is definitely a stroke of luck for me.
Museum Hack: If you could work at any museum, which one would you choose?
Honesto: The Metropolitan Museum of Art because of its many fascinating art pieces; and the American Museum of Natural History because of the dinosaurs!
Museum Hack: If you were to be reincarnated as an animal, which would it be and why?
Honesto: Probably the King of the Jungle, the Lion! Why? Lions are protective, brave, and always willing to fight if and when necessary!
