Museum Hack News November 23, 2019 Discussing Millennial Engagement at the Florida Attractions Association Conference

Our company founder, Nick Gray, was recently the keynote speaker for the Florida Attractions Association Conference on June 13, 2016.  The conference theme was “Mission: Possible – Creating the Adventure,” which invited attendees to consider how attractions are blazing new trails and leading innovation to create compelling experiences and adventures for their guests.

The conference was a perfect fit for us to discuss how Museum Hack turns museum visits into museum adventures.  Nick’s keynote focused on how attractions can engage millennials, discussing the myriad ways that Museum Hack has successfully attracted and engaged young adults on our tours, turning them from museum skeptics into museum lovers.

Afterwards, Nick led a workshop focused on millennial engagement. This workshop focused on how companies can attract millennials not only as visitors, but as team members. Nick’s workshop interactively discussed how companies can attract, hire, and retain millennial staff through various policies and procedures, such as dress code considerations.  His workshop also included how Museum Hack holds job auditions, not job interviews, to get candidates to showcase their personal passion and what they can bring to the company.

At the end of the workshop, Nick led attendees in our Matchmaker, Matchmaker game.  This game invites attendees to find fun photos of people, pair up, and create the love story of the two individuals in the pictures they chose.  Attendees loved it!  Check out the awesome fun they had during the game in this video:

Nick’s presentation and workshop were a huge success!  After the conference, we received this feedback from Andrew Hertz of Miami Seaquarium:

“I just came back from the annual conference of the Florida Attractions Association.  One of the speakers did a keynote and a breakout session.  I sat through both and got a lot out of them that I know will be helpful at my park.

Nick Gray has a company called Museum Hack that has reimagined the Museum experience for adults that want to be entertained as well as educated.  You can watch his Tedx talk on his page to get a taste of what he does.  You can see that video and get more info on this page.

It wasn’t just what you see on the video that was great, but the interaction with the audience and the Q&A was very entertaining and informative.  His breakout was about recruiting, hiring, retaining, and entertaining Millennials.  That was very informative as he discussed their hiring process and I could see how it translates to how millennials act as consumers at our park or a hotel.”

We were honored for Nick to be the keynote speaker at the Florida Attractions Association Conference.  It was wonderful to meet amazing professionals working to turn traditional experiences into fun-filled, interactive adventures.  Special thanks to the Florida Attractions Association for inviting us and hosting a great conference!
