Meet Brooke, one of our amazing tour guides in DC! Brooke operates tours out of the National Gallery of Art and National Portrait Gallery.
Museum Hack: Why did you apply to work with Museum Hack?
Brooke: I needed a good excuse for the amount of time I spend in museums. Security probably thought I was casing the place. Plus, it means I get to spend even more time in them (muhahaha)…
Museum Hack: Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.
Brooke: I really love my fellow tour guides. They are just as nerdy about art as I am and they always have the inside scoop on where a museum’s best butt is.
Museum Hack: What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Brooke: When I was little, I wanted to be the first ballerina astronaut in space. A realistic goal, I know.
Museum Hack: If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?
Brooke: I’d sneak behind the scenes and see what they new exhibits they’re working on and what isn’t currently being displayed to the public.
Museum Hack: If you could work at any museum, which one would you choose?
Brooke: The Louvre. I love that it doubles as the home of many amazing works of art and also a place of historic significance. And it’s so big that even if I worked there for five years I could still get lost; there’d always be new art to see.
Museum Hack: If you were to be reincarnated as an animal, which would it be and why?
Brooke: Hands down, definitely an otter. They manage to have fun even when it’s miserable out — also they are just adorable!
