Alexis is our Sales Support Representative and is an awesome member of our remote team! Read on to learn how she landed at Museum Hack after her former company shut down in the middle of the night and why she thinks a night locked in the museum would be super cool.
MH: Why did you apply to work with Museum Hack?
Alexis: Honestly? Because the company I was working for suddenly shut down and a friend (Angel!) was already working here. As soon as she heard that I was a free agent, she told me that I HAD to apply. I’d heard good things, so I decided to give it a shot.
MH: Tell us about one of your favorite Museum Hack experiences.
Alexis: Oh gosh – I’d say it’s a tie between flying to NY to meet the NY crew and flying to SF to meet our West Coast crew. Both experiences were amazing and it was great getting to know the people I ‘work with’ on a daily basis.
MH: What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Alexis: Between Kindergarten and 12th grade I attended 7 different schools in 6 different cities and 2 different states. The longest I stayed in a single school was (thankfully) high school.
MH: If you had to be trapped in the Museum overnight, what would you do?
Alexis: Depends on the museum. If it were the Met, I might be tempted to sneak into one of the period rooms and pretend to be a fancy aristocrat and sleep in one of the beds. AMNH – I’d probably be wandering around with “Night at the Museum” playing and trying to get the exhibits to wake up. 😉 In reality, I’d probably enjoy the fact that I was alone and it was quiet and go to sleep early.
MH: If you could work at any museum, which one would you choose?
Alexis: OMSI or any hands-on museum, really. I like being able to touch the exhibits.
MH: If you were to be reincarnated as an animal, which would it be and why?
Alexis: A pampered house cat because they really get to live the life. Sleep when and where they want to, get fed on demand, full-body massages on a regular basis … what’s not to love?
